I was down there to speak at Bill Glazer and Matt Bacak’s Super Affiliate Secrets event, and it was an amazing time.

The speakers and attendees got immense value from being there, and the networking was great too.

I’ve said this a million times before and i’ll say it a million more – GO TO EVENTS. You’ll be floored by how quickly your bottom line grows when you do.

You can’t build the kind of relationships you need to be building (with the best of the best in your market) just online. Events give you an opportunity to build these relationships face to face, which is extremely powerful.

The recordings of this event will be available soon. Here’s a short clip of my presentation on building Million Dollar Relationships.

I’ve learned a lot over the past year – in business and in life.

I partnered up with someone whom I think is the smartest marketer in the game. His name is Alen Sultanic, and if you haven’t heard of him there’s a reason for it.

He doesn’t care. About being known, about being a ‘guru’, about what anyone thinks.

Alen cares about 1 thing, and 1 thing only. Marketing.

Which is exactly how he managed to build 3 separate $50k/month businesses in under 8 months in 2009, and follow that up with being a part of just about $7 Million dollars in online sales in 2010.

And he just recently started teaching it (which is pretty much a Godsend for any marketer smart enough to learn from him.)

Alen has taught me more in one year than a masters degree would teach you in 7 years of college.

I went from knowing a ‘decent amount’ back in December 2009, to knowing more than many marketers who have been around 10 years or more.

So how does he do it? Simple… HE LIVES IT. But more importantly – HE LOVES IT.

If you love what you’re doing and you’re constantly challenging yourself to learn and improve your skills, you can make incredible strides in VERY short periods of time…No matter what business you’re in.

And yea – the money is ok, but its definitely not the heavyweight champinship belt. The money is just the equivalent of your “shot” at the title.

The REAL prize is Wealth. Money is just a vehicle to help you get there.

There’s a huge difference between being “Rich” and being “Wealthy”

Being “Rich” mostly focuses on cash. Being “Wealthy” involves a whole lot more than just money.

Wealth is the #1 goal. And a gigantic part of “Wealth” is personal happiness.

Until you can figure out what it is that’s going to make you TRULY happy…

You can never be wealthy.

Let’s go one level further down and say that the people you surround yourself with can massively impact your ability to obtain that happiness (or as Tony Robbins calls it: “Peak State”)

I don’t know what genius said it, but “You’re a product of the 5 people you surround yourself with most” is one of the most undeniably accurate statements ever written/said.

Hell, don’t take my word for it. Take a quick, objective look at where you are in life, and the company you keep.

Are you where you want to be? Are they?

If not, you need to make some changes. As tough as it might be. You need to surround yourself with those who:

Have already accomplished what you’re looking to accomplish (so you can model them)

Support you 110% in whatever you do (even if they don’t necessarily understand or agree with it)

Are positive in their outlook on life. (positivity breeds more of the same – and negativity works the same way)

If the people you currently surround yourself with don’t have at least one of these things, you won’t get very far.

In business or in life.

And as hard as it is to cut ties with those around you who do not fit these criteria (and I know – it can be HELL trying to figure out how to do it), you just have to.

Your future depends on it.

Gather up the strength to make it happen, and you’ll easily be on your way to making 2011 your “bitch”

One of my “Secret Weapons” for making lots and lots of affiliate sales is automation.

Without automation, you can’t really scale up any of your campaigns. Unless you hire people which can get extremely costly even if you’re hiring in the Phillippines.

Don’t get me wrong. We definitely outsource. But automation is the REAL key to being able to do more stuff in less time.

My buddy Rob Benwell just released a course about it: Auto Blog System X

I met Rob not too long ago on a trip to Washington, DC for Yanik Silver’s Underground Online Seminar. We talked a lot about what was working in our businesses and what wasn’t. And we gave each other a ton of ideas about how to make things better.

Here’s a pic from one night when we all went out. As you can see we’re very proper, professional business people =)

Anyway — Rob is a badass marketer, and he knows exactly what it takes to become successful online. He has made MILLIONS in a very short period of time, and helped thousands of people in the process.

His products are always good, and I harass him about not charging enough for all the info he reveals. He definitely over-delivers.

Plus, if you don’t make your first $1,000 in a week — Rob will refund you AND Paypal you $100 for your time. That’s how sure he is that anyone can do this.

If you’re involved in affiliate marketing or are looking for a way to start making big fat affiliate commission checks, then I strongly suggest you check out Rob’s new offer:

You’re probably familiar with the “Butterfly Effect” (also known as “Chaos Theory”), but if you’re not – here’s a quick, not too boring explanation…

The Main Idea:

The term butterfly effect was applied in Chaos Theory to suggest that the wing movements of a butterfly might have significant repercussions on wind strength and movements throughout the weather systems of the world, and theoretically, could cause tornadoes halfway around the world.

Basically it means something small and seemingly insignificant can affect something totally unrelated on a much larger scale.

It’s represented very well in the movie The Butterfly Effect starring Ashton Kutcher by demonstrating the idea that if one were to make small changes, while going back to the past, the resulting changes to the present would be large and various.

…And that’s EXACTLY what happened for my good friend Alen Sultanic.

But for him it wasn’t an action that changed everything –

It was an IDEA. One simple, yet extremely powerful idea. And it changed EVERYTHING.

It’s been forever since I wrote a blog post. I’ve been slacking really bad due to traveling around the country and going to events, summer weddings, and all sorts of other fun Summer stuff.

Ok weddings aren’t really considered “fun” for me but it’s nice to see people I haven’t seen in a while.

As far as marketing goes, i’ve been doing a lot of stuff ‘under-the-radar’ for the past few months.

I’ve been getting heavily into something EXTREMELY powerful:

PPV (also known as CPV) marketing

As far as I’m concerned this is the future — And there’s no sign it’ll be slowing down any time soon.

Google is fucking everybody up with all these bans on Adwords accounts, and pretty much eliminating all affiliates from using Adwords.

You can’t get anywhere near the volume from Yahoo/Bing search as you could from Google either.

But there IS a way you can get visitors to your sites and affiliate offers for pennies per click, and there’s a shit-ton of traffic to be gotten.

If you haven’t used PPV in the past, I suggest you start with MediaTraffic.

The cool thing about them is that they are a self-serving ad platform, and you can start with an initial deposit of $50.

When you’re getting traffic for pennies, fifty bucks can go a VERY long way.

Anyway, I’ll try to start blogging more regularly if I think of it.

In the meantime – stop doing what everyone else is doing, and go do something that’s gonna make you money – MediaTraffic is a great start =)

I’ll be posting some of my results in a future blog post so you can see just how powerful this stuff really is.

Have you been using PPV Networks? How have your results been? What have been your biggest challenges?

It all started on a quiet Saturday morning in Buffalo, NY.

Packing my bags for what would no-doubt be the craziest vacation I’ve ever been on, I was thinking how epic this trip would really be.

And I have a pretty wild imagination, but I could have never dreamed of the stuff I’d encounter after landing at McCarran Airport in “Fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada”

The night I got there I was out until 7am with a friend of mine we call ‘Big Show’. Its a funny name because he stands about 5’2 but man can this dude party.

Any club we go to in Vegas with Big Show, no matter how long the line, no matter how much the cover charge, we always walk right up to the front, and get right in for free. And I’m not exaggerating either — EVERY club we go to, he knows someone.

He’s a master of networking. He doesn’t know everybody at the door of every club, but he knows the most important people, and even more importantly – they know him.

The next day was the first day of the actual Affiliate Summit event. I didn’t have a ticket because they sold out before I got off my lazy ass to grab one, but it didn’t really matter. I made PLENTY of connections outside the event.

I met up with my good buddies Jonny Andrews, Steve Iser and Alen Sultanic. Total badasses when it comes to marketing online. I already knew them, but there are a ton more that I met that I had never talked to before.

LOL - Jonny 'Guru Assassin' Andrews is hilarious

This just gives you an idea of the value of coming to one of these events. In the one week, I met and connected with some super-badass top-level marketers. Just to name a few…

Andrew X

Jason James

Keith Wellman

Steven Johnson

Howie Schwartz

Mike Filsaime

Kevin Wilke, Jeffreaux, and Jeremy (Nitro marketing)

Sterling Valentine

Adeel Chaudhry

Amish Shah & Jay Styles

Jason Moffatt

Jonny Andrews

Jeff Czyzewski

Cam Forbes

Jeff Dedrick

Lots more….

Now this is exactly what I’m talking about when I tell you to…

GET OUT OF TOWN AND GET YOUR ASS TO ONE OF THESE EVENTS

There is nothing that compares to it. Aside from the fact that they are a helluva lot of fun, you have the opportunity to make incredible connections that will take your business to completely new levels.

And make some great friends, and have a shitload of fun while doing it.

Product Launch King Jeff Walker

Why so serious John?

Alex Jeffreys can party harder than anyone i've ever met

Total Insanity

What do you think connecting with even half of those dudes would be worth to your business? Exactly… a lot.

Yes – most of the events worth going to usually cost money, but you have to look at it from the perspective of ROI. Which is usually fantastic.

Here’s an example –

Mike Filsaime rented out an entire club on Friday and had all his top JV partners in one place. It was a real “who’s who” of the top marketers in the game.

Drinks started flowing at noon and by 3pm people were so ‘relaxed’ that JV deals were being thrown around like a kite surfer in a hurricane. It was truly an awesome thing to be a part of.

Not to mention standing behind Eric Rockefeller in a crowd 4-people deep that was drawn in to watch him win an obscene amount of money at the Blackjack table. Classic.

Joe Jablonski - Affiliate Manager For Mike Filsaime

I also got to meet up with my good buddy Joe Jablonski which is always a great time.

Joe is one of my very good friends in this game because he knows how to treat people and he values relationship building a ton.

(Which is probably why he’s in charge of an 8 figure business’s affiliate relations – MikeFilsaimeInc)

All in all it was a fantastic time, and I met so many people and made some amazing connections.

If you have the time, I’d STRONGLY suggest you get out to one of these IM Events ASAP!

See more pics of the event by clicking here

See you at the next one?

It’s been a while since I’ve written a blog post – since before the Holidays I’m sure.

Things just got crazy between the Google Slapper launch on the 7th of December, Xmas and then New Years

(my birthday is on New Year’s Eve – so as you can imagine I was out of commission for a couple days after that)

Some jerk-off also decided it would be cool to hack into my gmail account on Christmas Eve and screw a buncha stuff up.

Merry Christmas to me. Yep -it was a pretty crazy Holiday. But not nearly as crazy as the next couple weeks is gonna be.

I’m heading out to my favorite city – Las Vegas, NV to do some networking and serious partying.

I’ll be staying at the awesome Palms Place which is the incredible new(ish) tower the world famous Palms hotel added to their lot not too long ago.

First stop: Affiliate Summit followed by my buddy Mike Filsaime’s Affiliate Appreciation Weekend in Las Vegas. After that I’ll be at world class copywriter John Carlton’s San Diego Seminar.

And then finally, another week in Vegas for Howie Schwartz’s insane Superbowl Party.

So why am I doing this? Why so many events, and so much travel?

Well…For starters — Any excuse to go to Vegas and you can count me in. But as for the business side of this little 3-week getaway i’m treating myself to….

Networking comes first. Why? Because it’s the life-blood of your business as an online marketer…

And if it isn’t, IT SHOULD BE.

There’s a old saying that says “It’s not WHAT you know, it’s WHO you know” but I believe in a much stronger version that states:

“It’s not WHO you know, but WHO KNOWS YOU”

We all know lots of people. Some really know us well, some know of us, and some have no idea who we are. Just because you know someone, doesn’t mean anything.

In order for any relationship (business or otherwise) to be mutually beneficial, the person you know has to KNOW YOU – in order to contribute to it.

It’s for this exact reason, that I don’t believe in business cards.

I mean really — I have stacks of other peoples’ cards that I’ve gotten at conferences and seminars that I never took the time to follow up with.

Why? Because I don’t KNOW these people.

Yes we’ve met, yes they’ve given me a card, but when I get back to the lab (office) and reflect on what I did and the connections I made, I don’t even look at the cards.

They are just small rectangular pieces of durable paper with ink on them.

And THAT is not my idea of a connection.

Exchanging business cards is impersonal. If I met you and we hit it off, your number is in my phone and we will definitely be talking more.

Maybe even partnering up on the next multi-million dollar deal within the market.

But one thing you won’t get from me is a business card.

I’d much rather buy you a draank.

I’ll be blogging as much as I can with behind-the scenes updates, pics, and (maybe) some videos from the event, so stay tuned.

Feel free to leave a comment agreeing with, or challenging my hatred of business cards…or just to say “hey”.

Talk soon,

Jay

This is the exact course that helped me get to six figures in my first full year online. Over 1,000 members have benefited from the covert affiliate marketing strategies revealed inside.

It’s been off the market for a while now, and I’m happy to say – The updated course is ready to roll.

Last time it launched I gave away a copy of the course to one lucky subscriber who left a comment on the blog about why he wanted Google Slapper for FREE.

This time I’m giving away THREE of them!

And it’s SUPER-simple to enter the contest…

All you have to do is leave a comment below about why you want the course for FREE!

Why should you be one of the lucky 3 marketers to get your hands on an All-Access Pass to this renowned Google Slapper Affiliate Training Program?

At the end of the launch I’ll pick the best 3 comments from this post, and award the winners each a Top-Level Seat into the course.

It’s really *that* simple!

So leave your comment below, and I’ll announce the winner in a video on this blog on the 7th day of the launch.

Good Luck!
